1929 - bauer's meat market 318-320 Fremont St., Tombstone

Bauer's Meat Market in the OK Corral was built in 1879/80. Its foundation and partial walls were still in place in 1956.

In 1957, Tombstone Mayor Sid Wilson dedicated and rebuilt the adobe using its original foundation.

In 2018/2019, Mayor Escapule, and others approved the demolition of Mayor Sid Wilson's 1957 memorialized adobe to make room for parking spaces. Not one local newspaper covered the demolition.

    1963 - TOMBSTONE's 1957 MAYOR SID WILSON AT TIME 7:20

Mayor Sid Wilson could spin a good tale or two when needed. Mayor Wilson drove the stagecoach in the Smithsonian 1929 colorized Helldorado film. Wilson stated that he considered Tombstone a "sunday school" compared to all the other Old West towns.

For more Sid, visit 1957 Tombstone Mayor Sid Wilson.

1956 looped forty four second film courtesy Kathleen Shipley.

Prior to Mayor Sid Wilson's 1957 Bauer rebuild, a protective fence was placed around Bauer's adobe remains.

This low quality film shows the walls behind the wood fence. The OK Corral's diamond shaped sign is also in an image of Tombstone's 1881 mayor John Clum standing at the Ok Corral's north gate on Fremont Street in 1932.

Film edited by Gary S. McLelland.
